Peruzzi, Emilio

Emilio Peruzzi , ital. Emilio Peruzzi (1924, Florence - November 20, 2009 , ibid.) - Italian philologist-classicist, historian of antiquity.

He studied the substrate remaining in the Latin language from the pre-Roman population, the inscriptions in Cretan writing , Rome of the era of the first kings [1] [2] .

He graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1947. He taught at the Federal Polytechnic Institute ( Zurich ), University of Washington ( Seattle ), Rutgers University, Princeton University , Urbin University and the University of Florence .

He was appointed professor at the Higher Normal School of Pisa.

In 1982, he received the Feltrinelli Prize from the National Academy dei Linchea .
