The source of the river is at the foot of the peak of Apala (677 m) [4] the eastern part of the Main ridge of the Crimean mountains , 1 kilometer southeast of the village of Perevalovka [5] . At first it flows north, reaching the Kishlavsky depression , where the river is heavily canalized, at the village of Kholodovka, it turns almost at a right angle to the west. It falls into the Wet Indole, 700 m north of the village of Kursk . The river has one significant, left, tributary - Beg-Alan (in fact, this is the name of the gorge-tract along which the stream flows) [5] . In the reference book “Volosts and important selenia of European Russia” for 1886, the river was named Saly-Chokrak [6] .
