Club career
He made his professional football debut in 1968, playing for Wacker from Innsbruck, in which he spent five seasons. During this time, he twice won the Austrian football cup and three times became the champion of the country.
During 1973-1975, Yara defended the colors of Valencia .
His game for the Spanish team, he attracted the attention of representatives of the coaching staff of Duisburg, which joined in the summer of 1975. He played for the Duisburg club for the next five seasons of his playing career. Most of the time spent in the Duisburg, he was the main player in the team.
During the 1980/81 season, he defended the colors of Schalke 04 .
In the summer of 1981, Yara moved to Grasshopper, for which he played 4 seasons. Playing in the composition of Grasshopper, Yara also went on the field in the main team. During this time he won the Swiss Cup and three times became the champion of the country.
Yara completed his professional career as a soccer player, playing for the Grasshopper team in 1985.
Team appearances
July 11, 1971 Yara made his debut in official matches with the Austrian national team in a friendly game against Brazil , it ended with the score 1: 1.
As part of the national team, he participated in the 1978 World Cup in Argentina and the 1982 World Cup in Spain .
In total, during his career in the national team, which lasted 15 years, he spent 59 matches in the form of the national team, scoring 15 goals [1] .
Coach Career
Yara began his coaching career shortly after completing a player’s career, in 1986, heading the Grasshopper Club coaching staff.
Later he headed the clubs St. Gallen , Zurich , Admira Wacker Medling , Xanthi , APOEL , Tyrol , Hamburg and Kaiserslautern .
The last place for Yara's coaching work was the Red Bull Salzburg Club, which he headed as the principal during the 2005/06 season.
