Nikolai Ilyich Shrag (May 8, 1894, Chernihiv - February 2, 1970, Lviv) - Ukrainian Soviet economist and politician. Member of the Constituent Assembly . Deputy Head of the Central Rada of the Ukrainian People's Republic (1917-1918). Doctor of Economics (1967), theorist of the distribution of productive forces and industrial complexes.

Biography
He graduated from the Chernigov gymnasium [1] . In 1917, he was a student at the law faculty of Moscow University. In Moscow he joined the Socialist Revolutionary Party .
In 1917, the Ukrainian Socialist Revolutionary, a member of the Central Committee of the USSR [1] . Since 1917 - Vice Prime Minister of the Central Rada of the Ukrainian People's Republic. He was elected as a deputy of the All-Russian Constituent Assembly in the Chernigov constituency from the list (Ukrainian socialist revolutionaries and Ukrainian peasant village). Member of the Democratic Conference [1] . Since 1919 - Advisor to the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Budapest .
From 1920 to 1924 in exile in Vienna . In September 1921, together with N.F. Chechel, he arrived in Kharkov , where he negotiated with the chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the Ukrainian SSR, H. G. Rakovsky, on his return to Ukraine.
Since 1924 - an employee of the Kharkov society of workers and technicians. In 1931 he was arrested in the case of the Ukrainian National Center, sentenced to 6 years in prison camps. In 1933, the NKVD offered its services as an informant and was sent to the Saratov region instead of the camp [2] .
In 1945, he was sent to the Lviv region , an employee of the water planning sector, and, concurrently, a teacher at the universities of Lviv and Kharkov . In 1952 he graduated from the Lviv Trade and Economic Institute . In the early 1950s played an important role in the work of the Soviet special services of Ukraine, headed by P. Meshik and S. Milshtein , observing prominent representatives of the Lviv intelligentsia [2] .
Since 1954 - associate professor, 1955 - candidate of economic sciences, associate professor of the Department of Industrial Economics and Organization of Mechanical Engineering for Energy Enterprises, 1958-1963 - head of the Department of Economics and Organization of Engineering and Instrument Engineering, from 1964 - Associate Professor, Professor of Economics and Organization of Industrial Industry, Lviv Polytechnic Institute . The author of about 50 scientific papers on the formation, theoretical justification and development of industrial complexes. Member of the Scientific Council on Economic Problems at the Institute of Economics of the USSR Academy of Sciences .
He died on February 2, 1970, and was buried in the Lychakiv cemetery .
