The icon of the Mother of God "Ural" is a locally revered Orthodox icon , acquired in 2003 in Yekaterinburg . “Revealed to the servant of God Catherine in a sleepy vision on January 9, 2003” [2] and was painted by an unnamed icon painter with the blessing of the Archbishop of Yekaterinburg and Verkhotursky Vincent .

According to the information disseminated by the Yekaterinburg diocese ,
 | In a vision, the icon stood under a fir tree in the snow and shone with a dazzling white light, and a large white snowflake lay on the edge of the icon. The image of the Mother of God came to life and She said: "I protect the Ural land from all troubles and evils, sorrows and tribulations." After that, the vision disappeared, but Prechistaya’s voice still sounded: “Catherine, tell everyone about it and let them write this image with your words.” |  |
Catherine (other information about the parishioner is not disseminated) spoke about the vision of the abbot of the Yekaterinburg church in the name of Nikolai the Wonderworker, hegumen Germogen (Yeremeyev) [3] . An unnamed icon painter worked on the image for 9 months, after which the icon was placed in this temple, which belongs to the parish of Seraphim of Sarov on Yasnaya Street . According to the Russian Line agency, “this image somehow itself was called the Ural icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary . It refers to the iconographic images of the Kazan Mother of God ... The new image was reverently received not only by ordinary parishioners, but also by members of the Holy Synod, Metropolitan Juvenal and Metropolitan Sergius , who visited the church ” [4] .
