A staff ( staff ) or pole , a staff is a prop used in a fire show , which is a metal (less commonly wooden) pole with Kevlar , asbestos or ceramic wicks on the ends. Traditionally, there are spin and contact designs and techniques for working with this props. Elements performed with staff are often similar to gymnastic stick tricks (see baton twirling ). Performances with this props can take place with or without fire, incl. using led stuff. The most famous are such artists performing with this prop as MCP, Linda Farkash, Meast and others.

Spin stuff
Spin stuff ( English spin ) or traditional stuff is a technique of handling stuff, in which the artist turns the prop while holding it in his hands, describing mainly circles around his center, often throwing a pole and controlling the stuff in the manner of cold weapons. In this regard, the spin equipment of the staff sometimes resembles the performances of the Wushu athletes with a pole, and often has similar elements. The design of spin staff, as a rule, has a small length (<1.3 m) and weight.
Contact stuff
Contact stuff ( eng . Сontact staff ) is a technique in which an artist controls a staff without taking it in hand, i.e. The pole is in constant rotation through the body of the artist, so that this rotation allows the staff to maintain a constant balance allowing it to roll over the artist’s shoulders, neck and arms, giving the impression that the staff’s movement is independent of the artist’s will. The design of the contact stuff often has a large length (1.2 - 1.5 m) and relatively heavy weight. In addition, a special non-sliding handle winding is used for contact stuff ( neoprene , winding for tennis rackets, compactor for windows) [1] .
