Baron Heinrich von Huyssen ( Heinrich Freiherr von Hüyssen , July 27, 1666 , Essen - September 6, 1739 , Copenhagen) is a German lawyer and diplomat who served in the service of Peter the Great . Since 1703, the tutor of Tsarevich Alexei Petrovich .

After graduating from the Dortmund gymnasium, he studied law at the universities of Duisburg , Cologne and Leipzig . In 1689 he defended his doctoral dissertation. After visiting Rome, he worked at the University of Vienna . In 1699 he moved from Paris to Berlin as a representative of Princess Waldeck .
In 1702, with the help of Patkul , the Russian government invited him to serve to promote his views in the foreign press. In order to position European public opinion in favor of Russia, Guyssen translated government decrees, polemicized with hostile opinions, and delivered German journalists material both raw and prepared for press.
With the participation of Guissen, among other things, two brochures were compiled: Der Staat von Moscau (1704) and Relation von dem gegenwartigen Zustande des Moscowitischen Reichs (1706). The latter in an expanded form formed an entire book: “ On the Tsar and Grand Duke of Moscow Peter Alekseevich ” (1710).
In 1708-09 Guissen drew up many diplomatic papers, including dealing with the settlement of the diplomatic scandal caused by the violence against Ambassador Matveev in London. In 1713, he prepared for the tsar internal management projects: on fiscals, colleges, post offices, schools, marjorams and so on. Compiled by the daily "Journal of Sovereign Peter I from 1695 to 1710."
In 1710, Guyssen escorted Tsarevich Alexei to Germany to fuss about his marriage to the Wolfenbuttel princess and invited Leibniz to meet with Tsar Peter in Torgau . After the death of Peter I was left out of work. He died in 1739 in old age. Buried in Helsingor .
