Soai-kai ( 双 愛 会 ) is a criminal gang in the Japanese yakuza mafia, based in Chiba Prefecture [1] . Soai-kai has about 230 active members [2] .

History
Soai-kai was founded in 1945 by Toramatsu Takahashi, then a member of the bakuto group (card players) Sasada-ikka, based in Yokohama . Originally called "Gyoshui-kai" ( 魚 水 会 п ) and as a division of Sasada-ikki, the group was renamed "Takator-gumi" ( 高 寅 組 組 ) and re-named Soai-kai in 1955 , when Soai Kai became independent of Sasada-ikki [3] .
Status
The group’s headquarters is located in Itihara in Chiba Prefecture [2] Soai-kai is one of three influential mafia syndicates in Chiba Prefecture, the other two are Sumiyoshi-kai and Inagawa-kai [4] . Soai-kai is a member of the “brotherly bakuto federation” called Kanto Hatsuka-kai, which also includes 4 more groups based in the Kanto region : Sumiyoshi-kai , Inagawa-kai , Matsuba-kai and Toa-kai [5] .
