Biography
Orthodox. Son of St. Petersburg merchant 2 nd guild of Old Believers.
He graduated from the Vladimir 4-grade school in St. Petersburg . In 1890 he enrolled as a volunteer in the 198th infantry Alexander Nevsky Regiment . He graduated from the Vladimir infantry cadet school (1893), from where he was released as a second lieutenant in the Alexander Nevsky reserve battalion.
Officers: lieutenant (1899), staff captain (1903), captain (for military distinctions, 1905), lieutenant colonel (?), Colonel (1915).
In 1904 he transferred to the 148th Infantry Caspian Regiment , in whose ranks he participated in the Russian-Japanese war . For military distinctions was awarded the Order of St. Anne 4th century. with the inscription "For Bravery" and St. Stanislav 3rd v. with swords and bow.
In World War I entered the Caspian Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the Order of St. George the 4th degree
