Story
At night, they come and arrest the father of the boy Michael. He manages to inscribe a photograph of the man who wrote the denunciation and leaves it to his son. After the war, retired captain Mikhail appears in Moscow and finds his friends. He informs them that he is going to take revenge on Zavyalova - “Bald”, this is the very high-ranking apparatchik whose denunciation was shot in 1937 by his father. Soon he finds out that it is impossible to sue Zavyalov, and decides to kill him. Zavyalov lives in the "House of Government" in the apartment in which Mikhail's family once lived. Mikhail spends time with his childhood friend Nina, who works as a singer in a small restaurant. Another childhood friend of Mikhail, the janitor and the son of the janitor Kohl "Tatar" lives in a small apartment on the roof of the house with a young woman Fay. When Mikhail remains to spend the night with him, they discuss the possibility of killing Zavyalov, and Kolya refuses to participate in this, but promises to help. Zavyalov feels some kind of danger, and gives instructions to those close to scare Mikhail, not knowing whose son that is. They arrange a fight, but change his intention fails. During the funeral, Kalinin Fayu notices Beria and instructs his personal assistant to deliver her to him. He abducts Faya at the rink, but she gets drunk and begins to insult Beria, after which he orders her to return home. This abduction accelerates events: friends intercept the car with Fae, disarm and humiliate Beria’s aides. Immediately after this, Mikhail and his friends come home to Zavyalov. He allows Zavyalov to call the police, kills him and remains to wait for the employees, whom he managed to call by phone. Kolya leaves, then returns to his friend.
The film contains elements of phantasmagoria , in particular, part of the events takes place in extensive dungeons under the "Government House" and in the subway. There - its own "underground life", political demonstrations, hermit philosophers, etc.
