Biography
Henrikas Vantsevichus was born on January 2, 1924 in Kaunas , Lithuania .
In 1943 he graduated from Kaunas Gymnasium "Dawn".
In 1943 - 1947 - an actor of the Kaunas Theater of the Young Spectator, in 1947 - 1948 - the Kaunas Drama Theater [1] . In 1948 he graduated from the theater at the theater
In 1953 he graduated from the directing department of the State Institute of Theatrical Art. A. V. Lunacharsky ( GITIS ) ( Moscow ).
In 1953 - 1966 - the main director of the Kaunas Drama Theater.
Since 1966 he lived in Vilnius . In 1966 - 1989, he was the chief director of the State Academic Drama Theater of the Lithuanian SSR (now the National Drama Theater of Lithuania ).
From 1969 he staged performances in other theaters in Lithuania, incl. at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater .
He conducted pedagogical work at the Lithuanian Conservatory (now the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater ) ( Vilnius ), (since 1985 - Associate Professor).
He died on August 12, 2014 in Vilnius . Buried in the Antakalnis cemetery .
