Jimmy Greenspoon ( born Jimmy Greenspoon ; February 7, 1948 - March 11, 2015 ) is an American keyboard player , best known as a member of Three Dog Night .

Biography
Greenspoon's mother was a silent movie actress; she starred with stars like Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin . His father was a successful businessman and owned a textile factory. The family lived in Beverly Hills , California , where Jimmy went to high school.
In 1960, he played in several local bands, one of which was The New Dimensions [3] . In 1968, he met a vocal trio consisting of Denny Hatton , Chuck Negron and Corey Wells , who had a contract with Dunhill Records and were looking for accommodating musicians [4] [5] [6] [7] . Greenspoon joined their new band Three Dog Night, which was a commercial success in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In the same year, he took part in the recording of the album of songwriter and producer Kim Fowley - Outrageous [8] [9] .
In the early 1980s he contributed to the reunion of Three Dog Night and played with her until 2014. In 1991, Greenspoon co-authored Mark Bego's book, " One Is the Loneliest Number: On the Road and Behind the Scenes With the Legendary Rock Band Three Dog Night ."
In 2000, the Golden Star dedicated to him appeared on the Avenue of Stars , Palm Springs , California [10] .
In 2014, Jimmy was diagnosed with a brain tumor [11] , as a result of which the musician was forced to stop touring with Three Dog Night. Died of cancer on March 11, 2015, in Montgomery County , Maryland . He was 67 years old [12] .
