“ Monkey Me ” ( Russian “Imitation to Me” ) is the third single of the singer Milen Farmer from the Monkey Me album, released on October 7 on physical media. The music was written by Laurent Butonna, and the lyrics were written by Milen Farmer.

History
Since the release of the single Je te dis tout, the singer has not released a single song. Although many jungle photos appeared on the net posted by director François Hanss, it was rumored among fans that Monkey Me would be the third single. [1] On July 19, it was officially announced that the third single of the album would be the song of the same name. [2] For the first time in her career, Mylene Farmer has announced a fan pageant contest. [3]
Criticism
"Monkey Me" has generally received positive reviews from both critics and fans. Jonathan Hamard of Chartsinfrance.net wrote that the song is “one of the strongest” on the album. [2] Also, Julien Chadeyron of the Le Nouvel Observateur wrote that the song is “absolutely exciting,” “sincere,” while noting that “the composition has every chance of becoming a hit.” [4] It was said on evous.fr that although “Monkey Me” is a “pop rock song” with lyrics similar to “ L'Instant X ” about personality duality, it was noted that “it’s not sad, but it's still not a hit. " [5] However, on the same site, as a result of the vote, the singer's fans defined the song as the most anticipated song from the new album on the upcoming "Timeless 2013" tour. [6]

The song was performed at concerts as part of the Timeless 2013 tour
Music video
On October 3, the music video was uploaded to the singer’s official YouTube channel. The directors were Eric Delmotte and Luc Froehlicher, the video shows a crying monkey, collapsing buildings, there is no singer in the video. Initially, the video was planned to be used as the background at the concert during the performance of the song, later the decision was changed.
