Red fish owl or Red-backed fish owl [1] ( lat. Scotopelia ussheri ) - a species of bird from the genus of fish owls that lives in West Africa .

Description
The area is located in countries such as Ghana , Guinea , Liberia , Sierra Leone and Cote d'Ivoire . Reaches a height of 46-51 cm, has a reddish plumage and dark brown eyes. Inhabits mangrove , subtropical and tropical moist low-lying forests. The basis of the diet is fish. Early fish owls stood out as a separate genus, but later confessions introduced them into the Filina family. The population is in a vulnerable position due to deforestation, the habitat of these owls [2] .
