Tanel Kangert ( Estonian Tanel Kangert , born March 11, 1987 in Vändre , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian professional road racing cyclist , who has been playing since 2019 for the EF Education First Pro Cycling world tour team . Multiple Champion of Estonia in various disciplines.

Career
In 2017, after a severe knee injury to Fabio Aru in training in Spain and the tragic death of Michele Scarponi (both incidents in April), Kangert became the captain of Astana in the Giro d'Italia . In the race, he was in seventh place in the overall standings, but as a result of a fall at stage 15, Tanel broke both shoulders and retired, eliminating before the end of the season. [2]
