Champion of Cuba in 2013 with a result of 17.69 meters.
At the 2014 Cuba Championship, which took place March 18-20, he won with a score of 17.71 [1] . Thus, he broke the record of the championships of Cuba, 29 years old, which was equal to 17.57 m.
May 8, 2015 at the competitions in Havana, he updated the country's record by jumping on 17.94 m [2] .
On May 15, at the stage of the Diamond League in Doha, for the first time in his career, he crossed the 18-meter mark, jumping 18.04 meters [3] .
On May 28, at a competition in Havana, he set a new national record - 18.08 [4] . This is the third result in the history of athletics. Then only Jonathan Edwards and Kenny Harrison jumped. [5]
