Germano Senyanovic ( Serbian Germano Sevanovi , Croatian Đermano Senjanović ; July 27, 1923 , Split - February 19, 1942 , Jesenice ) is a Yugoslav Croatian guerrilla from the time of the Yugoslav People’s Liberation War , by profession a seller. The national hero of Yugoslavia.

Biography

Born July 27, 1923 in Split. He worked as a salesman, was in the Union of workers syndicates. In 1939, he was admitted to the Union of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia , and on December 17 of that year, he participated in a strike of workers in Split in protest against the murder of the Communist Party leader Vitsko Bulyanovich , for which he was detained. In 1940, he was arrested by the police on charges of secret correspondence with the Communists. At the end of the same year, he was accepted into the Communist Party , taking up the post of secretary of the Split city committee.

After the capitulation of Yugoslavia, Germano joined the Split city military committee, engaged in the purchase of weapons and weapons of the partisans, the organization of the strike groups of the partisans. Baptism of fire took in battles with the Italians in the composition of the groups of bombers . In the second half of 1941, he was accused in absentia of illegal activities in Split, organizing sabotage, speaking out against the authorities, and together with his brother Mrludyas and several other fighters, Germano was sentenced in absentia to death, but continued to lead operations in Split.

In mid-February 1942, at a meeting of the military-political leadership of Dalmatia in a cave near Yesenitsa, he announced the formation of the Mozor Partisan Detachment. The Italians learned about the meeting with the help of Ustashi spies. The troops surrounded the cave and blocked the exit. Germano, together with one soldier, went on a breakthrough on February 19 , but was mortally wounded in battle. By conducting the battle, he diverted the attention of the Italians and at the cost of his life saved the other participants of the meeting.

By the decree of the Presidium of the People’s Assembly of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia of July 24, 1952, Germano Senyanovich was posthumously awarded the Order and the title of People’s Hero of Yugoslavia. His name was the elementary school "Marjan" in Veli Varosha from 1970 to 1992.
