Polyany is a village in the Proninsky rural district [1] of the Dmitrievsky rural settlement in the Galich district of the Kostroma region of Russia.

Geography
The village is located near the confluence of the Kistegi River in Chobsu , at the source of Kameshnik. [2]
History
According to the Lists of the populated areas of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village belonged to the 2nd camp of the Galich district of the Kostroma province . There were 28 yards in it , 100 men and 120 women lived. [2]
According to the 1897 census , 178 people lived in the village (65 men and 113 women). [3]
According to the List of populated areas of the Kostroma province in 1907, the village belonged to the Selets volost of the Galich district of the Kostroma province. According to the volost government, in 1907 there were 45 peasant households and 218 inhabitants in it. The main occupations of the villagers were painting and farming. [3]
Before the municipal reform of 2010, the village was part of the Proninsky rural settlement. [4] [1]
