Description

The length of the females is 13 mm (males - 14 mm), width is about 2 mm. Brown. They live in the bedding of the eucalyptus forest. The body consists of 19 segments (in juvenile individuals less). Metatergites without tubercles. Tergites in the middle part of the body approximately twice as wide as its length. Dorsal groove is absent. The head is large and rounded; there is no eye. Telopods look like normal legs. From the close species, Tasmaniosoma warra , with which it is probably sympatric, it differs in the structure of the hetitaly, in the presence of small rounded posterolateral teeth on the paraotos and the teeth on the posterior margins of the metatergites. The species was first described in 2010 by Australian zoologist Robert Mesibov ( Robert Mesibov , Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston , Tasmania , Australia ) and named for Bruny Island, where the type series was discovered [1] [2] .
