Serhedchi ( Azerbay . Sərhədçi ) is an Olympic sports center of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan , located in the Khatai district of the capital of Azerbaijan , Baku . The construction of the center began in 2007 . The opening took place on August 31, 2009 with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev [1] .

Tournaments such as the 2010 World Junior Boxing Championship [2] , the 2011 World Taekwondo Qualifying Tournament 2012 [3] and the 2014 European Taekwondo Championship were held here .
Description
The sports center is built on an area of 3 hectares. The entire construction area was 37,300 m² [1] . The total capacity of the sports complex is 3,250 spectators [4] . The center consists of a three-storey universal hall, two open areas for various sports, a swimming pool, a parking lot, outbuildings and a hotel. There are four screens on the territory, which demonstrate various competitions simultaneously held in the center [1] . The diameter of the dome above the universal hall is 53 meters. There are also windows on the dome, which can automatically open at any time, and fresh air enters the hall.
In addition, the sports center has cafes, wrestling halls and oriental martial arts, changing rooms, trainer rooms and a doctor’s office, located on the second floor of the center. On the third floor there is a switchboard, rooms for checkers and chess , table tennis and billiards , a conference room, a museum, and guest lounges [1] .
The outdoor area is designed for training in basketball , volleyball , handball and tennis . 1550 seats were built for the audience. Under the stands, locker rooms and showers were built. There is also a football pitch in the center, where 1,850 seats have been built for spectators [1] .
The five-storey hotel complex has 32 rooms, equipped with furniture and other household equipment [1] .
