Club career

Harrow Borough

Adoma began his football career at Harrow Borough , a semi-professional club in the Isthmian League , while at the same time studying at Northwest London College with a major in Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting.

Barnet

In January 2008, Albert moved to the Barnet League Two club. As part of the deal, Barnet agreed to play a friendly match with Harrow Borough at the summer pre-season camp. On January 30, 2008, Adoma scored a goal in his debut league game against Hereford United and helped Barnet win (2: 1). On March 1, the midfielder scored a double in a match against Shrewsbury Town (4: 1). Having completed 22 meetings by the end of the season and marked 5 goals, Albert helped Barnet finish in 12th place.

In the summer of 2009, Blackpool , Norwich City , and Watford showed substantive interest in Adoma, but their proposals were rejected by the Barnet leadership. On November 12, 2009, Adoma refused to sign a new improved contract with Barnet and said that he would like to play at a higher level [2] . On May 13, 2010, at the end of the season, the Barnet management proposed Albert to increase his salary by another 20% and make him the highest paid player in the history of the club, but on May 28 it became known that the parties could not agree.

Bristol City

On July 1, 2010 Adoma signed a three-year contract with the Bristol City Championship club, which later paid £ 150 thousand for the transfer of a football player by court order [3] . As part of the robins, the midfielder made his debut on August 7 in the first game of the championship against Millwall (0: 3). The first goal for the “City” Albert scored on August 21, 2010 in a meeting with Barnsley (3: 3) [4] . Having become the best assistant of the team with 12 productive passes, according to the results of the 2010/11 championship, he was recognized as the Player of the Bristol City season, and later extended his contract until 2014.

In the 2012/13 season , Bristol City took the last, 24th place and flew out of the Championship. The Ghanaian midfielder declared his unwillingness to play in League One and demanded to put him on a transfer.

Middlesbrough

On August 8, 2013, Adoma signed a three-year contract with Middlesbrough , the transfer amount was about £ 1 million. [5] In addition to the rivermen, Wigan Athletic also claimed the Ghanaian winger, but both of their proposals were rejected. Albert's debut in the composition of “Borough” took place on August 10 in the game against “ Charlton Athletic ” (1: 0) [6] . On September 14, in a meeting with Ipswich , Adoma scored his first goal for the Rivermen [7] .
