Unecha

History

The Unecha station arose during the construction of the Bryansk-Gomel line in 1887. Since 1900, the Unecha narrow-gauge line - Starodub (Starodubsky access road) operated. In 1918, the Unecha - Surazh - Kostyukovichi line was built (since 1923 - the Communards), in 1923 it was extended to Orsha . So Unecha became a nodal station. In 1927, the branch to Starodub was changed to a broad gauge and at the same time partially straightened (from Unecha to Zhecha station [opened in 1929], a new route ran two to four kilometers west of the old one). In 1931, the line from Zhecha was extended to the Krupets station (via Khutor-Mikhailovsky ), and, thus, the Orsha - Kharkiv highway was finally formed. [1] [2]

At the moment, certain sections of the line to Kharkov have been dismantled, so since 2007, the Seletskaya platform on the border with Ukraine has been a dead end. [3]

Suburban trains

As of March 2017, passenger communication from Unecha remained only along the Bryansk - Gomel line . Suburban trains connect Unecha with cities and district centers of the Bryansk region : Bryansk , Vygonichi , Pochep , Klintsy and Novozybkov .

Passenger traffic to Starodub (since 2001 or 2002), Seletskaya ( Belaya Berezka ; since 2013) and Krichev (the train was canceled on the Unecha- Surazh section in 2014) has been stopped.

In the following sections, where commuter trains from Unecha or from Bryansk via Unecha previously traveled, passenger traffic is now carried out only by long-distance trains (without stops at intermediate points): Novozybkov - Zlynka (since 2016) and Novozybkov - Klimov (since 2007) . Since 2014 there is no transit traffic, all trains follow from Unecha.
