Geography

Population
According to the State Statistics Committee of Georgia, according to the official census of 2002 , the population of the village of Meore-Kesalo is 1,587 people and consists 100% of Azerbaijanis . [5]
Economics
The population is mainly engaged in agriculture, sheep , cattle and vegetable growing . There is a cafe in the village [6] .
In March 2007 , to strengthen telephone communications between Georgia and Azerbaijan , in 6 villages of Marneuli district ( Tazakendi , Azizkendi , Kapanahchi , Meore-Kesalo, Pirveli-Kesalo and Algeti ) of Georgia, telecommunication lines were established and electrified telephone exchanges were created, which gave the opportunity for villagers to use phones and the Internet . - The Sunni Madrasah for Young Men [11] is the second secondary religious educational institution in Georgia . It was opened in 2000 . It is under the patronage of Turkey . More than 60 students, both Azerbaijanis and Georgians, study at the madrasah. Teaching is also conducted in two languages, Azerbaijani and Georgian . Arabic and Turkish languages are also taught at the madrasah. The program of theological sciences is approved by the authorized representative of the Caucasus Muslims Office in Georgia. Teaching aids are delivered from Baku , Tbilisi , Batumi and Turkey . [12]

Interesting Facts
In March - May 2010 , the Muslim community of Georgia, together with the Georgian expert Gela Guniava, carried out expeditionary work, during which they interviewed Muslim Azerbaijanis in Tbilisi , as well as other cities and towns of Kvemo Kartli ( Marneuli , Gardabani , villages of Imiri , Ponichala , Dzveli-Kveshi , Amamlo, Meore-Kesalo, etc.). The studies included general reference questions on the number, national composition and areas of Muslims in Georgia, as well as on the number of mosques, priests and the system of religious education.
The activities of Islamic cultural and educational organizations were also studied, the level of knowledge of the population about Islam and religious rituals was studied, the level of penetration of religious norms into the consciousness and everyday life of Georgian Muslims was determined, meetings were held with representatives of the Shiite and Sunni Muslim clergy, including Akhounds and imams of mosques mentioned above settlements.
