Kargaly diadem is a work of applied art of Usuns , which is stored in the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan .
There are precious stones on the diadem which means the presence of a polychrome style. The diadem is characteristic of the Central Asian art of the III century BC. e. - II century AD e. It was found during archaeological excavations in 1939 in the tract Mynoshakty (Kargaly gorge) near the city of Alma-Ata [1] [2] [3] .
It is made by stamping technique in the form of two gold rectangular plates inlaid with precious stones with a total length of 35 cm and a width of 4.7 cm. The internal field is filled with floral ornaments, into which fantastic images of animals, birds and humans are skillfully woven. Characteristics and habits of animals are conveyed quite realistically.
