Career
Sheffield United
Michael was born in Manchester , where he began playing football at the local Manchester United school. In 1999 he was expelled from the Academy of Manchester Club due to the lack of prospects. The young boy was picked up by Steve Bruce , who at that time was coaching Sheffield United . In April 2001, Tong was transferred to the main team of "blades". The first appearance of Michael in the main part of the club at a professional level was held on May 6, 2001 in the final game of the season in the match against Bolton [1] .
