Iceland's 1944 championship was the 33rd national championship. The title for the 10th time won the " Valur ".

The Athletic Club ( Reykjavik ) was also supposed to take part in the tournament, but after the very first match against Fram (Athletic defeated 0: 8), he withdrew from the tournament, and the result of the match was annulled .
