Teaching activities
In 1778, Paradise was replaced by as a dance teacher at the Moscow Educational Home . Studied with Paradise I. Nikitin, Gavrila Ivanov (Raikov) , Vasily Mikhailov (Balashov) , Ivan Lavrentiev (Eropkin) , Arina Matveeva (Sobakina) .
He used his own learning system, in which he early divided students by role (serious, semi-characteristic and comic), limited the size of the class to twenty children (ten boys and girls each), eliminating disabled students. The very first graduation in 1779 proved the effectiveness of the Paradise approach: during the trials in St. Petersburg, Paradise's students were highly appreciated. For three years (1781-1783) 5 students of Paradise were enrolled in the court troupe, and 14 - in the " Free Theater ".
According to the ballet historian Yuri Bakhrushin , the results of the Paradise confirmed the superiority of the Moscow ballet school over the Petersburg school at that time.
Director
Leopold Paradise staged a ballet at the Petrovsky Theater to the music of Starzer “The Magic Shop” (1780), and also created many miniatures for the theater of the Educational House .
