Geography
The village is located on the main course of the Trans-Siberian Railway , a 484 km platform stopping point is located in it.

History
According to the Lists of the inhabited places of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village belonged to the 1st camp of the Galich district of the Kostroma province . There were 9 yards in it , 35 men and 35 women lived. [five]
According to the 1897 census , 140 people lived in the village (63 men and 77 women). [6]
According to the List of populated areas of the Kostroma province in 1907, the village belonged to the Nogatinsky [7] volost of the Galich district of the Kostroma province. According to the volost government, in 1907 there were 30 peasant households and 153 inhabitants in the village. The main occupations of the villagers were agriculture, painting and carpentry. [6]
Until 2010, the village belonged to the Chelmen rural settlement. [8] [9]
