Biography
In 2006, Verlander became the rookie of the year in the American League [1] . On June 12, 2007, he made his first know-how at the Comerica Park in a game against Milwaukee Brewers [2] . He made his second know-how on May 7, 2011 in a game against the Toronto Blue Jays [3] . On November 15, 2011, by unanimous decision of the jury, he received the American League Sai Young prize . November 21, 2011 he was named the most valuable player in the American League . The New York Times columnist called Verlander “by far one of the best pitchers of his generation” [4] .
Personal life
Since 2014, Verlander has been dating the American model Kate Upton . In 2016, the couple announced their engagement. [5]
