Lebanon District

Lebanon district ( Latvian. Līvānu rajons ) is a former administrative district of the Latvian SSR .

History

The Lebanese region was formed by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Latvia. SSR of December 31, 1949 [1] .

The district consisted of the cities of Lebanon , Yersik, Kursish, Lebanon, Peterniek, Raniyesh, Rozhkalnsky, Rozhupsky, Rudzetsky, Starsky and Turkic village councils. The district center was the city of Lebanon [2] .

The distance from Riga by rail was 157 km. The nearest railway station was Lebanon , located on the territory of the district center.
