Line 1 (Marseille metro)

Line 1 is one of the 2 lines of the Marseille metro. It connects the northeast and southeast with the city center. Opened November 26, 1977, it now has 18 stations, of which 17 underground and one trestle.

  • The first section of the line was opened on the La rose - Saint charles section, opened on November 26, 1977 . Length - 6.92 km and 7 stations.
  • The second section of the line was opened at the Saint charles - Castellane section, opened on March 11, 1978 . Length - 2.66 km and 4 stations.
  • The third section of the line was opened on the Castellane - La timone section , opened on September 5, 1992 . Length - 1.71 km and 2 stations.
  • The fourth section of the line was opened on the La timone - La Fourragere section , opened on May 5, 2010 . Length - 2.77 km and 4 stations.
