Geographical position
The area is located west of the central part of Turku with access to the sea.
Population
In 2004, the population of the region was 2513 people, of which children under 15 years old - 17.83%, and over 65 years old - 9.39%. 90.81% spoke Finnish as their native language, 2.39% spoke Swedish, and 6.80% of the population spoke other languages.
Industry
The main industrial enterprise of the region is a shipyard , whose appearance at the end of the 20th century significantly influenced the development of the region.
