History
Ikskyl station was opened in 1863 in order to attract more passengers to the railway line. It was used as an intermediate in the delivery of vacationers to the Baldonsky resort.
During the First World War , a narrow gauge railway was laid by German engineering units, connecting the station with the positions of the German army on the left bank of the Daugava. The line reached almost to Baldone and ended in the area of the estate of Ropage. After the war, it was used to deliver passengers to Baldon [4] .
