Manners are customs of moral importance for a particular social group. Morals are maintained in society through moral relations, or, conversely, are derogations from the moral requirements inherent in the surrounding society. [1] Morals reflect the moral values of society. [2]
The term "morals" is often used to characterize and moralize the norms of behavior that exist in any described society. [1] In popular literature, the term "morals" describes a real-life (as opposed to declared) morality. [3]
