Baldon district

Baldonsky district ( Latvian. Baldones rajons ) is a former administrative district of the Latvian SSR .

History

The Baldonsky district was formed by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Latvia. SSR of December 31, 1949 [1] .

The district consisted of the working village of Baldone , Baldonsky, Vecumnieksky, Zalitsky, Ietsavsky, Kekavsky, Mezhiniyeksky, Missky, Stelpsky and Strelnieki village councils. The regional center was the working village of Baldone [2] .

The distance from Riga by rail was 28 km. The nearest railway station was Ikskile , located 16 km from the district center.
