Anatoly Evgenievich Skachko ( September 11, 1879 - December 28, 1941 ) - Soviet military leader and statesman. Biography
Born in Poltava in the family of a surveyor.
He graduated from the boundary Institute and the University of Geneva .
Member of World War I : military journalist, military topographer, adjutant of the 131st infantry regiment of Tiraspol with the rank of staff captain, member of the executive committee of the 12th army .
In the July days of 1917, as part of the revolutionary troops of the Provisional Government, participated in the capture of the Peter and Paul Fortress .
Since November 1917 - elected commander of the 131st Infantry Regiment of Tiraspol.
Since 1918 - a member of the RCP (b) .
Member of the Civil War .
In January 1919, he was the chief of staff of the Ukrainian Soviet Reserve Army , and from February 6, he was the commander of a group of troops of the Kharkov direction, and in April-May 1919 he was commander of the 2nd Ukrainian Soviet Army .
By order of June 4, 1919, the Ukrainian Front was disbanded, and the 2nd Ukrainian Army was transformed into the 14th Army and left as part of the Southern Front . A.E. Skachko remained the commander of the 14th Army until June 7, 1919, when he surrendered the command of the army to K.E. Voroshilov . [four]
Then he was sent to the North Caucasus . In 1919 he was in underground work in Dagestan against Denikin .
In January 1920, at the initiative of the Council of Defense (J. Korkmasov), considered by the Caucasus Regional Committee, he was sent to Turkey to attract them to a joint struggle against intervention. After the occupation of Istanbul by the British (March 16, 1920), he became close to the leadership of the VNST (M. Kemal - Atatürk) and in April 1920 accompanied the first Turkish delegation (led by Halil Pasha) to Lenin. The delegation on the way to Lenin visits Dagestan. He has a meeting with Korkmasov, who signed on March 16, 1921 in the Kremlin, together with Chicherin, an agreement on friendship between the RSFSR and VNST.
After the Civil War, from June 1921 to January 1922 Skachko A.E. - head of the art department of the Glavpolitprosvet . In 1922 - 1923 - head of the Department of National Minorities of the People’s Commissariat of Education , then - employee of the Representative Office of the Dagestan ASSR under the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee . In the 30s - deputy chairman of the Committee of the North at the Central Executive Committee of the USSR , member of the editorial board of the social scientific journal "Soviet North" . He dealt with the development of the Far North and the Far East, the development of the culture of the indigenous peoples of these regions and the problem of their integration into socialist society and the USSR as a whole [5] .
He wrote a number of essays (including on the Civil War [6] ), scientific works on the peoples of the North, a science fiction story published in 1930 in the journal “The Struggle of the Worlds” [7] . Edited "Collection of reindeer husbandry, tundra veterinary medicine and livestock" [8] , published in 1932. In 1935, he submitted materials for the academic title [9] .
In 1937 , repressed .
On August 8, 1937 , the NKVD was arrested; on December 28, 1941, he died in the Kargopol camp.
