Monica Setterlund was born in the family of an artist and an accordion musician.

Personal life

Illness and death

In 1999, Monica Setterlund was forced to leave the active creative life, in connection with his illness. She suffered from severe scoliosis, which is why she left show business in 1999. In recent years, Monica moved, only with the help of a wheelchair. However, the Swedish star died after an accidental fire that broke out in her apartment in Stockholm on the night of May 11, 2005.

On Setterlund account more than 20 albums. She brought international fame to the USA in 1960. She recorded with Ted Jones and Zoot Sims. Her most famous disc, Waltz for Debby, was recorded in 1964 with pianist Bill Evans.

In 1963, she represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest, but since the format of the competition did not coincide with the performance of Monica, she took only the last place.
