Karsavsky district ( Latvian. Kārsavas rajons ) is a former administrative district of the Latvian SSR .
History
Karsavsky district was formed by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Latvia. SSR of December 31, 1949 [1] .
The district consisted of the city of Karsava , Baltinavsky, Bozauksky, Golishevsky, Karsavsky, Kristniksky, Krishyansky, Mezhvidsky, Merdzensky, Nautrensky, Pazlausky, Pushmutsopsky, Ranchsky, Ruskulovsky and Salnava village councils. The district center was the city of Karsava [2] .
The distance from Riga by rail was 269 km. The nearest railway station was Karsava , located 3 km from the district center.
