David "Dave" Nounis ( born David "Dave" Nonis ; May 25, 1966 , Burnaby , British Columbia , Canada ) - Canadian hockey manager, formerly hockey player, defender. He currently works in the Anaheim Ducks NHL club as a special scout and adviser to the general manager. Until April 12, 2015, he was Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager of the NHL Club Toronto Maple Leafs .

Biography
Dave Nonis was born in Burnaby , British Columbia . He played for the hockey team of the University of Maine , for two seasons he was the captain of the team. In 1988 he graduated from the university with a bachelor's degree. After playing one season at a professional level in Denmark and returned to Maine as a university team coach.
Vancouver Canucks
In 1990, he joined the Vancouver Canucks structure, where he held various positions. In 1998, Nonis was appointed Senior Vice President, Director of Hockey Operations. On May 6, 2004, Nonis was appointed general manager of the club, while becoming the youngest general manager in the history of the Canucks. On April 15, 2008, the management of Vancouver decided to dismiss Nonis due to missed teams in the playoffs [1] .
Anaheim Ducks
On June 20, 2008, Dave Nonis became a senior hockey player at Anaheim Ducks Club.
Toronto Maple Leafs
On December 6, 2008, Nonis was appointed Senior Vice President of Toronto Hockey Operations [2] . On January 9, 2013, Brian Bourke was fired from the post of general manager of Toronto and Dave Nonis took his place [3] . July 25, 2013 signed a new contract with the club, designed for five years [4] .
At the beginning of the 2013/14 season , Nonis felt unwell and was hospitalized in the match against Ottawa Senators , but was discharged from the hospital a day later [5] .
April 12, 2015 Nonis was fired.
Return to Anaheim
July 5, 2015 became an adviser to the general manager at the Anaheim Ducks club. In this position, he already worked before joining Toronto [6] .
Team Canada
Dave Nonis was the general manager of the Canadian national team at the World Championships in Slovakia in 2011 [7] .
