History
In the village area is a village of the XIII-XIV centuries.
During the Great Patriotic War , heavy battles were fought in the village area. In October 1941, the village was in the zone of occupation of Nazi troops.
In the spring of 1943, Soviet troops stopped in the offensive at the line of Kuprino - Starinki -Naumovo. Here the front stabilized until the summer of 1943. A new offensive began on August 13, 1943, with military positions in the area of the settlements of Naumovo - Starinki, Soviet troops advanced on Spas-Demensk .
Retreating, the Germans hijacked the local population.
