Age and Biometry

The height of the tree from the surface of the earth is 26 meters , and the trunk diameter is 1.59 m . According to studies, it was found that the tree began to grow around 1500 (according to other estimates - in 1650) [2] . Studies conducted in 2013 showed that the tree began to grow in 1600 [1] .

Legend

According to legend, after the defeat near Kazan in 1774, Emelyan Pugachev climbed the crown of an oak tree, from where he observed burning Kazan . Presumably, if these events took place, then they could not be associated with this tree, since at that moment it was not outstanding in size. Perhaps the legend could be related to another large oak tree that grew in the vicinity of the present oak tree from about 1400s to 1940s, and sawn down after its death in the 1950s [3] .
