Biography

Born March 17, 1967 . She had a younger brother Gustav. Her maiden name is Urbankovich. Her grandfather often called her “Moni”, which later became the basis for her pseudonym [2] . Simone's literary talent was noticed at school. She constantly participated in literary contests, writing poems and songs [3] . In 1997, she released her first novel. Since then, she has written non-stop, a total of 2 novels per year. Moniova was married three times, from each of her husbands she had a son. In 2000, she married a third time. Her husband was Boris Ingr. Together they owned a publishing house, which since 2002 has published 25 books of Moniova [4] . In 2011, her last novel, Heart Pain, was released.

Simone Moniova was killed on August 3, 2011 during a fight with her own husband at home. Boris Ingr stabbed her with a knife. Long before the murder, the spouses had a bad relationship. According to Simone’s best friend, her husband beat the writer for 10 years, forced her to have sex with him, and threatened to kill her. Nerve shocks led to the fact that Moniova lost 43 pounds. Even the presence of a small son did not stop the violence against her [4] . Ingr himself was seriously injured in a fight and even ended up in a hospital [5] .

The murder of Simone Moniova caused a shock and became a sensation in the Czech Republic. The fact is that Moniova’s latest novel “Heartache” almost exactly described Moniova’s family situation and ended in a similar murder [6] . Interest in the book grew rapidly [7] . Boris Ingr was convicted of the murder of his wife and sentenced to 15 years in prison. [8]
