Biography
Representative of the Polish magnate clan Firleev coat of arms “ Levart ”. The son of the referendary of the outward crown and the governor of Krakow, Nikolai Firlej (d. 1599/1601) from his first marriage with Elzbieta Ligeza (d. 1594 ).
At his baptism among the guests was attended by the Polish king Sigismund III Vase himself and Anna Jagiellonka .
For twelve years he studied philosophy, mathematics and jurisprudence in Germany , England , Italy, France and Spain. After returning to his homeland, he became courtier of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Sigizund III Vazy .
In 1615, Nikolai Firlei received the position of Betsky's chestnut , and in 1618 he was appointed Voynitsky's chestnut . In 1633, Nikolai Firlei received the post of governor of Sandomierz . In 1633 he was elected ambassador to the Sejm, and was also the marshal of the crown tribunal in Lublin .
Family and Children
He was twice married. Until 1612, his first marriage married Regina Olesnitskaya (d. 1632/1632 ), daughter of the governor of Lubelsk, Nikolai Olesnitsky ( 1558 - 1629 ). Children:

After 1632, he remarried to Maria Mogilyanka ( 1591 - 1638 ), daughter of the Moldavian ruler Jeremiah the Grave and widow of the Bratslav governor Stefan Potocki ( 1568 - 1631 ), from whom he had no children.
