Biography

Born July 20, 1847 in with. Andreevka of the Nizhnelomovsk district of the Penza province [1] . He was brought up at home. He entered the service on March 16, 1864 as a cadet in the cavalry guard regiment. On July 20, 1865, he was promoted to cornet, and in 1866, promoted to lieutenant. From April 14, 1867 to July 31, 1869 he was a regimental quartermaster.

In 1868 he was promoted to staff captain, in 1870 - to captain. October 30 of the same year approved by the assistant regimental repairman . On January 14, 1872, he was dismissed from service due to domestic circumstances with the rank of colonel.

He died on January 21, 1883 in Paris. He was buried in the cemetery of the Transfiguration Monastery in Penza [1] [2] .

Family

The second son of Andrei Nikolaevich Arapov (1807-1874), the leader of the nobility of the Nizhnelomovsky and Narovchatsky districts of the Penza province ; brother of general Ivan Andreevich Arapov . All three are cavalry guards.

Since 1866, he was married to maid of honor Elizabeth Petrovna Lanskoy (1848-1903), the youngest daughter of Adjutant General Pyotr Petrovich Lansky and Natalya Nikolaevna (nee Goncharova, Pushkin's widow) ; It should be noted that the wives of the Arapov brothers (Elizabeth and Alexandra Lansky) were native sisters.

Children :

  • Elizabeth (1873-1953) (married to Bibikov; since 1892, married to a chamberlain , leader of the nobility of the Nizhnelomovsk district of the Penza province , later - Acting State Counselor Viktor Dmitrievich Bibikov). Since 1874 she lived in her father’s ancestral estate - Andreevka of the Nizhnelomovsky district of the Penza province (now the village of Andreevka of the Golovinsky village council of the Kamensky district of the Penza region). After the revolution (1917) did not emigrate, she lived in the RSFSR , in the Penza region. After the confiscation of the estate interrupted by casual earnings: she taught English, German and French. The author of the memoir "My Memoirs of Pushkin and His Descendants" (1949; published in 1995). She was buried at the Mitrofanovsky cemetery of the city of Penza [3] [4] [5] .
  • Natalia (1875-1970) (married to Melikov; from 1895 to 1902 married to the lieutenant of the Nizhny Novgorod Dragoon regiment, son of the Georgian prince Nikolai Melikov; second husband - Fedor Ivanovich Annenkov, Penza nobleman and zemstvo leader, grandson of the Decembrist Ivan Alexandrovich Annenkov ). After the revolution (1917) emigrated with her son to Switzerland. In 1920 she moved to Paris. Died at Versailles [4] .
  • Maria (married of Ofrosimov; married to P. A. Ofrosimov ).
