“Cutie Honey” ( Japanese キ ュ ー テ ィ ー ハ ニ ー , “ Kyuti Hani” , “Cutie Hani” ) (also called Chery Miel in France ) is a well-known anime and manga created by Guo Nagai in 1973. Being an android, the main character is Hani - it reveals a striking resemblance to the image of female sorceresses - “Maho-shojo” (for example, she is able to change her appearance, especially when meeting her opponents) with some key differences:
- Hani’s abilities are mechanical, not magical. Nevertheless, almost all the same, it can be attributed to the girls-sorceresses;
- Despite the fact that in Japan the anime Cutey Honey was addressed to all age categories, in the West it is considered unsuitable for young viewers, although there is a slightly smoother shojo version (Cutey Honey Flash) among the series that have been released.

Hani is considered the initial template for those witch girls who are active fighters, in particular for works of this genre, focused more on a male audience. Hani references or explicit parodies have been found in many manga and anime for many years. The best-known example is the creation of the anime Sailor Moon (the most famous work of the genre of sorceress girls outside Japan), explicit references to Cutey Honey were used. Like Hani, Sailor Moon has a penchant for pronouncing funny monologues before the battle, as well as for fighting almost attractive and at the same time eccentric female monsters.
Story
Hani is an android girl created by a middle-aged scientist as her own "daughter." She does not suspect that she is an artificial creature and attends a Catholic school, where an ugly lesbian teacher constantly sticks to her. Hani learns the truth about herself on the day when her “father” is killed by members of the evil organization Panther Claw. She reveals that having uttered the phrase "Hani-flash!", She can transform into a red-haired superheroine with tremendous strength and dexterity and armed with a sword. Moreover, she has several other images, all of them are beautiful women with various abilities (her original, “real” image is a long-haired blonde). Hani is fighting the Panther Claw while attending school.
Hani is very playful for a typical Japanese heroine, she often teases her male friends and taunts rivals in battle.
