History

In 1937, when the Lagonda 4,5-liter was maximally improved, the LG6 and V12 were shown at an exhibition in London that same year, and already in early 1938 the first copies of these models went on sale. The chassis of a completely new design was developed by O.W. Bentley [2] .

Design

Bentley made an independent front suspension with long torsion bars, which was much stiffer than its predecessor. The engine from the previous model was retained, but its power was increased. With a top speed of almost 100 mph, a modern chassis and body design, the LG6 has rightly been placed among the great cars of the Classical era. No one knew what a Bentley would have done with a six-cylinder engine if war had not broken out [2] .
