Design and Construction
At the beginning of 2005, at a meeting of the leaders of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VEF) with the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev , an agreement was reached on shared participation in the construction of playgrounds for beach volleyball in Vityazev [1] . At the insistence of the general manager of the VVF, Yuri Sapega, the initial scope of the project was also expanded on a 4.6-hectare site allocated by the region’s leadership, located on a picturesque spit three hundred meters from the Vityazevsky estuary and half a kilometer from the Black Sea , the construction of a volleyball complex for training Russian national teams in classical and beach volleyball. After the sudden death of Yuri Sapega, Stanislav Shevchenko became the main curator of the project.
Before the construction of sports facilities began, the wetland was primed and raised one and a half meters. The first phase of construction, which went into operation in the spring of 2007, included the construction of a volleyball hall for two sites, beach volleyball courts, a hotel with 64 seats, and in the second stage, an indoor beach volleyball hall, a swimming pool and a commercial hotel were put into operation. Also, work was carried out on the construction of its own complex of treatment facilities, a water well, a boiler room, a gas pipeline was stretched from the main highway to the sports base, as a result of which the facility became autonomous, independent from the Anapa community [2] . Further development of the “Will of the City” is aimed at turning it into a multifunctional sports and training base for representatives of various game and cyclic sports [3] .
