Biography
Theodor Zahn was born in 1838 and became the eighth child in the family of teachers (1798–1890) and Anna Schlatter (1800–1853) [3] .
He studied Protestant theology in Basel, Erlangen and Berlin. Since 1858, he taught at various schools and colleges. In 1868, he became a teacher of the New Testament in Göttingen, three years later he received the position of associate professor. 1877 received an appointment at the University of Kiel. A year later, he moved to Erlangen. In 1888, Zang received an invitation from the Universities of Greifswald and Leipzig, chose Leipzig and taught there until 1892, before returning to Erlangen and becoming a New Testament professor.
