Biography
Georgy Nosov was born on April 2 ( 15 ), 1911 in the village of Yudino, Petukhov volost, Ishim district, Tobolsk province of the Russian Empire [1] in a peasant family of immigrants from Ukraine [2] .
Since childhood, I felt an attraction to music. In 1926 , when radio broadcasting first appeared, I heard from radio programs about composers - people who compose music. I decided to study this art.
Since 1930, Nosov began studying at the Sverdlovsk College of Music with famous Ural composers - M. Frolov (who went through the basics of the theory of composition) and V. Zolotarev.
In 1932 he moved to Leningrad , where he continued his musical education at the labor faculty , with professor M. Chulaki , and then entered the conservatory . Here he studied in the composition class of Professor M. A. Yudin .
Nosov's creative activity began in Sverdlovsk , where he tried his hand at songwriting. After moving to Leningrad, he worked in various musical genres, right down to the opera (Varya Stroyeva, 1939-1940). But he was still most attracted to the song.
In the fall of 1939 he was drafted into the army by the October RVK of Leningrad, served in the ensemble of the Leningrad Military District . Drafted into the army during the Soviet-Finnish war , G.N. Nosov wrote several songs on military subjects, of which the song about the division that first broke through the Mannerheim Line gained popularity in the army. During the Great Patriotic War, G.N. Nosov was in the ranks of the Red Army , continuing active creative work. Songs of G. N. Nosov were performed by propaganda brigades, front-line ensembles of song and dance. He was the artistic director of the Red Army Song and Dance Ensemble of the 23rd Army of the Leningrad Front . The quartermaster technician of the 1st rank , non-partisan Nosov G.N. commanded a supply platoon of the 314th rifle regiment of the 92nd rifle division , then a platoon of the 22nd rifle regiment of the same division.
In 1943 he was demobilized from the army for creative work in the Leningrad branch of the Union of Composers. In the postwar period, he wrote a number of lyric songs. In 1949, the young song “By the mountain ash” was recorded by a young Galina Vishnevskaya under a button accordion on an artel record. Most of the songs are written in the words of the Leningrad poet Alexander Churkin, with whom G. N. Nosov was connected by a close creative community.
Georgy Nikiforovich Nosov died on August 27, 1970 in Leningrad . He was buried at Volkovsky cemetery .
