Zach ( Bruce Greenwood ) is a soul collector, an angel who collects souls and takes them to heaven. He is sent to earth to live like a man for thirty days at a ranch where cattle are kept in Texas. There he falls in love with ranch owner Rebecca ( Melissa Gilbert ), a widowed single mother, and he affects the life of her son and ranch workers.
